A Comet and a Cluster
This beautiful image shows the comet Lovejoy as it moves past the Pleiades Cluster. While the Pleiades Star Cluster has been studied for thousands of years, the comet Lovejoy was only discovered in August of 2014 by the amateur astronomer Terry Lovejoy. Terry’s passion for astronomy lead him to discover the first comet from ground-based observation in over 40 years.

I like how men tell us that periods are somehow simultaneously “not that bad” and also bad enough that we shouldn’t be allowed to hold positions of power.

10 Things To Give Up
I would lend more weight to #10 had I not found this on Tumblr.

Oh god guys. JK Rowling is a genius, and so is this person.
the thing I love about this fandom is that there are 7 books and 8 movies to observe. so every once in a while some blessed soul finds a piece of information that makes all the magic resurface again
Mind. Blown.
Oh Lord…it’s a metaphor too. It’s symbolic of Neville holding on to his past, the horrors of what happened to his parents, of being a passive vessel for that atrocity. As if the terrible thing kept happening and would never stop happening.
When he moves forward and becomes part of his own story instead of the story of his past, his strength surges.
I am in tears. TEARS.

do you ever just stop and think wow what the fuck these things are real and they exist in the world like what this shit ain’t just a picture it is actually literally a thing somewhere
Yeah this is in Yellowstone national park man. It’s good, you should go sometime.
I’ve been here and it smells really bad
but it look cool doe
Fun fact about these pools: the bluer the color the hotter it is. The red rim is the coolest part and the blue is the hottest. (THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD TOUCH THE RED RIM IT IS STILL SCALDING HOT)
Fun fact: if you touch the blue part it won’t even hurt. The skin of your hand will just come right off like a loose glove.
The colors are produced by a form of bacteria so old and so alien to anything modern that it only survives at temperatures that kill any other known life.
Yellowstone is really cool.
I stopped reading at “if you touch the blue part it won’t even hurt.” to go out to yelowstone to touch that thing
EVERYONE LET’S GO RIGHT NOW AND TOUCH THE BLUE PART.
